Catching up...

I was out of town last week for work for three nights - the first time I have been away from home since my daughter was born (7 years ago). It was a bit hard on everyone. Even though I could tell it was getting her down, Chloe was a good sport.

Since then, I've been running to catch up. I have a meeting for a town commission I chair on Thursday night, and I have been trying to get organized for that. I'm also homeroom mom for Chloe's first grade class - had a meeting for our annual auction fundraiser on Friday morning, 9 hours after getting back from the airport. Had to go in to do library - reading the kids books and helping out - at school on Monday afternoon. All while trying to keep moving with my workload. Running the vacuum and catching up on sheets and towels has just about finished me off... I was snoozing while Chloe was reading her books to me this evening.

My current excitement is at having found a group to play mah jongg with. My regular day off is Friday, so come 9:00 am this Friday I will be hearing the click of tiles. Music to my ears!

I have a few ideas of posts for the next couple of weeks I want to get to - a giveaway, some stone info, a few book reviews, etc. But that's it for now.

Ooooh I absolutely LOVE mahjongg!! My grandma taught me how to play when I was a little girl and I've been hooked ever since :-)

I can't wait. I played weekly for years in DC. Moved to Maine, and no one had even heard of it. It's taken me a couple of years to track down a group here. I must be excited. I have terrible roots at the moment and I moved my hair appointment to be able to play!
