My daughter had last Friday off from school. We spent the afternoon lazing in the grass and reading books until she sat up and said, "I want to learn to ride a two-wheeler."
We spent the next two hours practicing, and she got it. I watched her riding away, thrilled with her accomplishment.
It was a metaphor for everything I hope for her future - that she will be independent, confident, and happy with herself.

That's great! It would certainly be awesome if she took life by the handlebars, wouldn't it-just a little gudance and off they go. I love little people, tell her I send congratulations from the blogosphere.
Thanks, t.allen! She was so excited. She told me yesterday, "I can't remember when I couldn't ride a two-wheeler!" It's amazing how easy some things seem once you learn to do them.
Ahhh, what a great day!!!
